Rolf Middelboe & Gorm Lindum End-Grain Mosaic coffee table for Tranekaer Denmark
Rolf Middelboe & Gorm Lindum End-Grain Mosaic coffee table for Tranekaer Denmark. Late 20th century.
This is a very interesting coffee table with a mosaic of inlayed end-grain wood. These colorful end-grain pieces are inlayed in a very interesting Escher-like pattern. The base and edge of the table is made out of dark stained wood.
It is both a very interesting design and a modest piece of furniture due to the dark colored elements. The table comes from a Belgian home and was bought new at the famous furniture company Van den Berghe-Pauvers, who were the distributor of these Tranekaer tables in Belgium in the eighties. It comes in good vintage shape and is signed at the base with a brass plate which says Tranekaer Denmark.
