George Nakashima Style Live Edge Coffee Table in Solid Walnut 1950s
Midcentury Live Edge Coffee Table in Solid Walnut, Europe, 1950s. Fully restored.
This is a stunning and very elegant live edge coffee table made out of solid walnut by a European cabinetmaker in the 1950s. Made on request for the first owner in the late 1950s by a skilled craftsman and friend of the family. Directly from the first owner, this table has been in the same family since then. He made it out of a wonderful solid slab of walnut with a very attractive shape and expressive wood grain. This wood slab was chosen by the family out of a selection of slabs. It has a very interesting grain with dynamic lines and shapes. The colors are shifting from dark brown to a very deep and beautiful brown gold. Topped off by a live edge which gives this table a desirable appearance. A rare piece! Very similar to works by master woodworker George Nakashima and clearly inspired by his tables in American Walnut. The table is restored to its original glory by a skilled and experienced craftsman using high quality materials.
As can be seen in the pictures it is in pristine condition and ready to be used in a stylish interior for the next 70 years.
