Riccardo Dalisi Artistic Fire Screen for Dimensione Fuoco 1980s
Riccardo Dalisi Artistic Fire Screen for Dimensione Fuoco. Wrought iron, 1984.
Great graphical piece by artist Riccardo Dalisi (1931-2022) for Dimensione Fuoco, San Donà di Piave, Italy. This Italian company produced high end fireplace accessories in the latter part of the twentieth century. Designers and artists like Dalisi and Afra and Tobia Scarpa worked for the company. This Dalisi fire screen is simple but very stylistic and is reminiscent of works by the Memphis movement.
Dalisi played an important role in post war Italian design and designed playful and poetic pieces for various makers. His work is ‘anti design’ and he was a big advocate of bringing back imagination and creativity in product design. Therefore his pieces are as much art pieces as usable products. Later on in the nineties Dalisi made similar pieces for Zanotta.
