Paul Schuitema Early Cantilever Lounge Chair 1930s
Very original and rare early cantilever chair by Paul Schuitema. The Netherlands, 1930s.
In the 1930’s this cantilever tubular design was very modern and due to that striking design it still is modern – even in 2020. This is a really beautifully aged original example of Dutch modernist furniture. The delicate original velvet fabric is in great shape but a bit fragile due to it’s age. The tubular frame shows a great patina. Therefore this chair is more of an objet d'art and preferably has to be preserved in this original condition.
